INTEL 80486DX-50

I think in some kind it is special CPU. Intel not rather used FSB higher than 33 MHz. Here we got 50 Mhz Wink

The 486DX-50 really exists, and the FSB is 50 MHz... Confused

EDIT: sorry, at the first read I thought you were questioning if the chip really existed. Now I see you only said it is special because of high bus speed for an intel one. I should read twice before posting... Embarassed BTW, I'm sure you know it exists, who in this forum will not? Rolling Eyes

I always knew 486 DX 50's existed, but I never took a chance to look at the FSB. How much would it be worth with a 50MHz FSB anyway (This special one you're talking about)?

I thought some had 25MHz?

Anyway I never knew they were rare. What would you pay for one?

I not said it is rare or hard to find. I wrote that 486 DX 50 is special - it is only one model where Intel made higher FSB than 33 MHz. Someone saw Intel's 486 on 40 MHz or others 50 MHz bus speed ? It is interesting for me.

i figured everyone would know this, but dx == 1x multiplier, dx2 == 2x multiplier, and dx4 == 3x multiplier (go figure)

so a dx-50 will have a 50mhz fsb.. a dx2-50 will have a 25mhz fsb. (so the dx would be faster than the dx2 id imagine, though ive never bothered to look that up)

as for my rare chip, i cant decide which one, so ill post two: a media gx ES (themad has one too, which he got from me Razz i dunno if anyone else here has one..) and a k7 500mhz es. themad has one of these too, i dont think anyone else does?

Not my rarest but very rare pieces. Both are East German developments without western equivalent.
