I'm shopping for a Pentium D 960 for an old Dell, and I notice that there is a big price difference between the two steppings. The SL9AP is available for under $10.00, while the SL9K7 fetches up to $40.00. Anyone know a reason why I should shell out the extra bucks for the newer part?
Thanks!

One is just a newer stepping. Performance-wise they should be the same.

They are both for 05B platform, so they have the same 130W TDP.

I compared the specs and it looks like the SL9k7 has slightly lower voltage and case temperature, but it doesn't have extended halt state...

Performance wise they're both going to be identical. Only difference would be the extended HLT state. Not a biggie.

Thanks, Everyone!
I just wanted to be sure I didn't buy a version that was famously flawed, since I mean to use it. Sounds like I can save my money and buy the earlier one.
