|
|
I'm shopping for a Pentium D 960 for an old Dell, and I notice that there is a big price difference between the two steppings. The SL9AP is available for under $10.00, while the SL9K7 fetches up to $40.00. Anyone know a reason why I should shell out the extra bucks for the newer part?
Thanks!

| One is just a newer stepping. Performance-wise they should be the same. |

They are both for 05B platform, so they have the same 130W TDP.

| I compared the specs and it looks like the SL9k7 has slightly lower voltage and case temperature, but it doesn't have extended halt state... |

| Performance wise they're both going to be identical. Only difference would be the extended HLT state. Not a biggie. |

Thanks, Everyone!
I just wanted to be sure I didn't buy a version that was famously flawed, since I mean to use it. Sounds like I can save my money and buy the earlier one.
