I have Asus K53Z with AMD A4-Series A4-3305M
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-A4-Series%20A4-3305M.html

Can I replace it with one of those APU's
And Do I need diffrent BIOS?

1.AMD A10-Series A10-4600M
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A10-Series%20A10-4600M.html
Which is Socket FS1 (FS1r2).Is it diffrent from FS1?
And Microarchitecture is Bulldozer, not K10?
or

2.AMD A8-Series A8-3550MX
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-A8-Series%20A8-3550MX.html
it has the same socket but diffrent TDP 45W

I doubt that the A10-4600M will work. Even though Trinity and Llano mobile processors use the same chipset, there are some differences in the socket that make them incompatible. I've heard that some people tried to run Trinity processors in FS1 (not FS1r2) motherboards, and that didn't work.

Your second choice should work. The CPU has the same stepping, so in my opinion you won't even need to update the BIOS. It may run hotter under load.

I was wondering about that "Dual Graphics".
Is there way to upgrade APU with A8 and Dual Graphics?
I am not sure how Dual Graphics works and do I need free PCI(e) slot ?
Like this model who has the same Chipset but Dualg Graphics

Dual graphics requires specific type of discrete graphics card installed in your notebook. You can find some info here:

So with my A4 I can't install second GPU like HD 6510G2 because it should be already installed on the motherboard right?
I read that dual graphics is not so helpfull. It's more like saving power is that rignt?

The A8 APUs do work in this laptop. Added an A8-3520M to mine, works like a charm. It's a good laptop, so I thought I'd make it a quad core, and the APU was cheap so... Smile

I just tried installing an a8-3500m in my k53z-bbr3 and it wouldn't boot. It will fit but not boot. Would the 3500m vs the 3520m really make a difference?

According to previous posts, I just wanna know that those APUs (A8/A10) from first post will be working in Asus K53tk with A6-3420M 7670M 1GB ?

And someone can tell me from which sites/other sources I can buy/steal/sth those CPUs ? And how many cash i should spend for this cpus?

Thanks a lot for any answers !

PS.
I really sorry 'bout my english. I wonder that someone would know what I mean in this post. Smile

I can guarantee that the A8-3520 will work in this laptop, I'm posting this using it. Smile 3500M should work as well, though I avoided it because it was a higher wattage, and I got a really good deal on the 3520.

If you used the 3500M and it didn't work, go back and check the heat sink and compound -- sounds like a thermal issue to me if you are hitting the boot screen and then it conks out.

Good luck, the upgrade is completely worthwhile and a huge boost.

Just in case anyone is still doubtful, a couple of screenshots. You'll have to fix the links a little, I can't post them otherwise. Smile

Just wanted to add a big THANK YOU! to titanstats.

We picked up an A8-3520m off ebay for $13.50, shipped. My 15 yr old son upgraded his Asus K53z (originally A4-3305m) to the A8-3520M last night. He pretty much did the swap himself; his first.

To say it is faster is an understatement. Before, he could play Skyim at medium setting and it would be laggy; at the lowest setting, Skyrim played fairly smoothly. After the swap, he put Skyrim at the highest setting, attacked his henchman as a test, and saw no lag at all.

It looks like the 3520m is the best FS1 processor with the same TDP as the 3305m
