Hi,

I suspect that is CPU but not sure. Looks very big but it is light - empty inside. Here is photo gallery :

I bought it on polish auction with other "normal" CPUs.
Seller got it from SUN server. He have many SUN servers with integrated monitors Smile

I agree, probably a bunch of smaller dies under that lid.

i meant the chips on the edge of the ceramic.. looks like someone wedged a screwdriver under it and tried to pry it up

a tip from me to unsolder a chip:

use the soldering iron and a vaccumpump to delsoder the pins
when all free then use a heatgun and heat the pins with it.
the chip falls out no force needed..... Very Happy maybee you must
drop the edge of the board a bit on the table....
no missing pins and they are straight.

Thanks but too long time method. You pumped 300 or more pins ? I only use heatgun with careful using metal screwdriver.

...have a desolderig station... takes only 10-15 minutes and you have a good looking cpu... thats worth Rolling Eyes
