It could be Intel 82860 chipset (Memory Controller Hub). I don't know if the 82860 MCH had an integrated heatspreader or not, but the number of contact pads and their layout matches:

The size of the 82860 MCH is 42.5mm x 42.5mm

82860 MCH may be correct. This chip is 42.5 x 42.5 mm
