I received it couple days ago.
I found it's a fake cpu when I got it.
Just take the paint away today, I found it is a IBM BLUE LIGHTNING 486dx2-66 cQFP.

fake or not, for a collector, an IBM 486DX2-66 pqfp is as interesting as a cyrix 486dx2-80 pqfp...

I actually think the IBM is a better chip than the Cyrix, which is one reason why I think it is a bad fake (personal preference and all that...) Smile

Interesting thread, don't know how I missed it when it was first posted. It's especially cool for me because I received Cyrix DX2-80 in PQFP package a few days ago Smile

There was clues, for finding this fake :
- Cyrix PQFP cpus are not black but with a metal cap
- Markings for Cyrix PQFP cpus always end with QP. GP, is for ceramic cpus.

I have a Cyrix DX2-80 in PQFP. I tried acetone on it and
I couldn`t remove anything from the chip so far.

I might have to try something stronger.
