More cores for faster multi-tab browsing...?

The main thing slowing down the performance of my laptop is when I have multiple internet browser tabs open simultaneously. I know there are better ways to manage this. But aside from those, would it help to get a laptop with more cores, like a quad-core i7? What about a lower-lever quad-core AMD? What else helps for this - larger cache, RAM, hyperthreading, clockspeed? Thanks.

SSD and more memory is the one I'd concentrate on. Any quad core modern-ish cpu above 2Ghz should do for everyday multitasking. SSD Drive makes a huge difference and Also the amount of installed memory(at least 8Gb)

Agree with Adam. You'd be amazed at how fast tabs eat memory. Memory would be the first place to look. I don't think I've come across CPU as a bottleneck in any setup I have encountered with regard to tabbed browsing unless I was looking at a system that was 6-7 generations old (and even then, it would have to be a weak processor from that generation)

I would suggest that when you experience slowness, you use Task Manager to work out if your CPU load is high, or you have run out of memory etc. I agree with the others that it is usually a memory issue, but there are some sites that are poorly scripted, or use your CPU to mine cryptocurrency etc that can significantly bump up CPU usage. Rather than guess it's always best to use available tools to check.
