I just posted a notice on CPU-World's home page about upcoming server upgrade:

Quote:
I plan to upgrade website server today, Saturday June 6, from 3pm EST to 6pm EST (7pm GMT - 10pm GMT). During upgrade, some site features and the CPU-World forum will be unavailable for short period of time. I expect that downtime will last less than 30 minutes if everything goes smooth. This post will be updated if I will need more time to complete the upgrade.

I have the same impressions. Much faster at loading pages.

I noticed that pictures uploaded to the main site are displayed in their full size rather than thumbnails like before.

I uploaded a picture of SL9UL and it seems to have broken this page.

I uploaded the same picture here and the page looks fine, but the picture is quite large.

On the index page, under LATEST COMMENTS section, there are text placeholders that say "(picture uploaded)" instead of the actual picture. This seems to affect picture uploads since the server upgrade.

I noticed the same thing when I tried to upload two pictures today. I checked upload directory and the pictures were there. For some reason thumbnail images were not created (which is upload script picks large-scale pictures), and it uses wrong picture URL. I'm going to work on it tomorrow.

Posting pictures works now. I successfully uploaded two pictures. Please see if it works for you. I'll try to fix previously uploaded pictures later tonight.

I have no idea what was wrong. I created very simple page that does the same image processing as the "Add comment" page, except that the image is loaded from a file on the server. That page works without problems from command line and as a web page. I didn't want to spend too much time troubleshooting it as I already spent a few hours doing it, so I put a workaround in place to do image processing differently. That seems to be working.

I fixed uploaded images. There also were a few blank comments posted. I deleted those.

I forgot to mention: uploading PNG images does not work right now. I don't want to waste my time troubleshooting it because I plan to move the site to new server later this year, and I'll make sure that uploading PNG images works on the new server before the move.
