Hello!

I have two cpus,

1) Celeron 850 mhz, 100, 128kb L2
2) PIII 700 mhz, 100, 256KB L2

Got no ieda but I guess by experience the Celeron could be better as I'm not planning intensive apps, just some retro stuff and basic office jobs, and the xtra mhz may help. Unless not.

Thanks!

If it's for a laptop, you might want to check out the power management features of your Celeron. I know they didn't used to support Speedstep, and that made a big difference to battery life.

Battery died 13 yrs ago.
Speedstep isn't an issue here, just the best cpu.

Try them both and find out? We'd like to know too!

Same bus, half the cache but over 20% faster, guessing the Celeron will be a bit better for most normal tasks
