| Engineering sample is not just a cpu thing. Engineering samples are also made for other types of chips. As to whether this chip is or not I haven't a clue. Their do exist chips that have ES in the designation (such as my dec 310es that I thought mistakenly was an engineering sample.) ES is also sometimes used as a batch code or other internal identification such as intel does when es is written on the back of the processor. |
