Nice, CPUShack Smile

I hope that my contribution on the pricing of the board enhanced your article.

Great article!

However, I wasn't aware, that 386's even was able to use cache? Were there ever any "native" 386 boards with cache? Or do I have it mixed up with internal cache, which didn't come until the 486 class processors?

386 did indeed allow support for cache, and nicer motherboards had it.
Some even had 256K of cache
Here is one:
https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/F/FUJIKAMA-USA-INC-386-80386-CACHE-SYSTEM.html

The 386SL added support for 16-64K of cache (reducing the amount of external chips needed to make the cache work)

Some non-Intel 386s DID have cache on die, the Cyrix, TI and IBM versions had 1-16K of L1 cache on die

That was a great read. The upgrade solutions of the 80's and 90's are so interesting.

I found this Wikipedia's Intel Inboard 386 page. I took the liberty to add external link to your article Smile

Curiously, your Intel Inboard™ 386/AT 287 PLUG is not listed at our Intel 80287 floating-point unit family Confused

Here is the article from Intel Solutions magazine I found at https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=312677#312677

It is interesting that it was released before the introduction of Intel 80387 mathematics coprocessor.
