Strange.... none of the numbers make sense.
Fake, remark or both?
Wafer/die date on the bottom compared to the numbers on the top?
sSpec with 4 digits, "Q056"?
Looking closely the numbers/letters are different. Size/font?
It's also a common production chip, Pentium 166,
SY016 with the "IPP" stamp. Confused

I look it carefuly, and it does not like fake or remake.
All the letter on it are very cleanly.

I think the Initial "Q" is an engineering sample mark.

The "i" is missing. They layout of the text is not normal.

You can clearly see the etching/engraving is different between the "Q056 1429" and the markings below it.

I would expect it to look like this..

Without more information I would say that is a "fake" remarking. The qspec has been put on to try add value.

here is a normal SY016

Notice the layout looks the same as the suspect fake, apart from the extra ICOMP text.

here is another normal SY016

Now we begin to see $1 chips being turned into $100+ items. Sad

Yupp, its not a matter of "if" but when. Anyone with a laser engraver or even just some printing skills can etch "ES" on a chip.

I say it's a fake due to the change of font used for the"Q056" line, with the letters having a very different lok to them.

Can be very early fake of Pentium 150. All prints looks like fake. Maybe it was to early to sale Pentium 166 and that's why someone tried to make ES.

I am convinced that is a fake remarking.

I havent seen Intel es/qs with variations in the engraving. I suspect this might be a recent fake, one for collectors.

That is impossible for collectors. Because I found it from hundred of pentium chips.
