I am curious as to how many chips we might have that are one of a kind samples, I know i have seen some sweet chips that are truly one of a kinds floating around so maybe we can get a chunk of them posted in this thread to make things a little easier to find. It doesnt matter to me what brand or model the chip is as long as its believed to be one of a kind I personally have a couple that i have never seen anywhere else before so ill start with them. I have seen plenty of the am29517 chips but never on an adapter board, and the 50/50 chip never seen another one in the sx package. What other interesting stuff do you guys have? _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

I am pretty sure there are plenty of ONLY ONE KNOWN chips exist, but the question is how we could prove that it is the only one ever and forever. _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

The key word in that post is BELIEVED, As for weather or not they will stay that way forever is kind of silly since more and more chips are being discovered every day. We dont need to prove that they are for a fact the only one in existense, but if we post them up and look around and find another then we can rule out the ones that do have doubles at least. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." Jupp, let's show up some nice ones - even if they are posted somewhere else too:-)
my latest additions here are:
SGS F8 Zebra. I've really never seen this one anywhere.
And making a 2616 out of a 2716 by painting the glass is so silly I am pretty sure Intel didn't do that very often. I am sure this is much rarer than a 4004 - what doesn't mean it must be more worth:-)

btw, I started a similar thread years ago:-)

You're right
I'd never seen some of my chips (even if I'm sure that I'm not the only lucky guy to have them). So, how many collectors have one of these chips in their collection?

Actually the 2616 was pretty commonly made by paintinf over the window of an EPROM.
The 2608 was made the same way (though often with merely a sticker over the window) _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Boxed Pentium 90MHz:

Got that one! (Did not know that it was rare though, one of the first chips i bought from ebay in 2005)
Moderator: Perhaps this thread should fit better in "Modern Chips (Collectible Chips only)" than "Vintage chips"? Or two separate threads with a age divider?

Intel M8008 with groundstrap, traces
Military Intel 486 w/ higher temperature rating
100MHz ES gold capped pentium
75MHz gold capped pentium ES, except with P54C marking
Only ones that exist, amongst collectors we know, not necessarily the world (no one can know that ) _________________ http://www.RareCPUs.com

It's a 486DX2-50 overdrive. Can't remember what site I got the part details from though (but I have seen it somewhere, and it had been tested). _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
