What do you mean?
I think for seller-fault refunds (IE wrong item, misstated, sold as working and arriving broken) the seller should pay for all expenses |

No they are now going to charge the 10% final fee to include shipping.
They are starting doing it by reducing the fees if you offer 'free' shipping. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

IMHO you statement is not fully correct. I'm mostly a buyer but I'm piss**d by the new changes!
- Are the masked bidder IDs good for the byuers?
- Who pays all these eBay and PP fees in the end? - (answer - the buyers)
- Many serious sellers already left eBay and many others will follow soon. Where should I buy all the precioussss thingsssss???
I think this image is more fitting.
= EBAY
= BUYERS
= SELLERS
In Germany we have another thrilling improvement.
Now eBay dictates how much fees the sellers are allowed to charge for shipping and handling!
IMHO if a seller demands EUR 100.00 S/H fees for a tiny item with EUR 1.00 starting price it's not correct and should be prevented.
But the limitations set by eBay are insane!
Here is the link for german speaking forum members.
To all non-german speaking members - try to read and understand the text, because you will get these limitations very soon.
http://pages.ebay.de/help/sell/maximum_shippingcosts.html
How I am supposed to pack and ship a big tower PC case for only EUR 8.00 ??? Should I take used toiled paper as a padding material?
The other maximum shipping costs are idiotic too.
Ebay started to enforce PayPal in Germany. If a buyer pays with PP the seller must send the item as an insured parcel with online tracking. These shipping methods cost more than allowed by eBay.
Now the seller has two choices to make:
- To ship the item as an uninsured letter / parcel and wait for a PP chargeback.
- To set the item's price higher in order to cover his/her shipping expenses - and pay more eBay fees. |

Sgt. Hartman should have a takeover on this...
Seriously, Ebay made a huge mistake. But why are they so suicidal? Are they taking it on sellers that make a living out of ebay (people that'll stick anyway) or what?
In Italy almost everyone is starting to really hate PP (pay pimp), it just isn't satisfying.
It started good, until they made money. |

Ebay made too many major "mistakes" last time. They can't be so stupid!
IMHO eBay will really commit suicide. I think somebody from eBay executive floor want to earn some additonal money by manipulating the stock prices. Because of the recent "improvements" the stock price will fall very soon. When the prices are low enough he or she will buy a controlling stake and will try to reverse all these recent idiotic changes. I can't find another explantation of eBay's ill behavior.
But what will happen if eBay won't survive this game?
I've found this really interesting thread:
