I'm not sure, but I just picked up this 4004 (which looks in good condition) for only EUR157. Maybe the coming weeks/months will be good for us chip collectors!

Here is the link to the item:

I think it is a combination fo things. There is one thing I think that is happening. I honestly dont think there are that many chips collectors and I think many are filling large portions of there collections and are reaching points where they dont buy as many chips.

I may be wrong but this chip seems relabeled, isn't it? I don't recognize the font...
If not, it's a very good deal Smile

I hope not - but can anyone give me a positive view on whether it is a fake?

I watched those end as well, i thought the c4004 went cheap and the d4004 went high, I thought the c4004 looked super clean for the print to be a bit scuffed up tho, Of course i have no idea if its genuine or not.

They are the same thing!
I guess the previous winner canceled this trade due to some reason.

I had seen P4004 ended with more than 150usd, now this time only 36usd.

i asked this seller if this C4004 was socked or solderd, and he told me
it was soldered. maybe it´s that the reason of the low price. i will not pay 157 euro for a soldered 4004.

Note a relabeled/refurbished chip is not a fake chip Wink

But if the seller didn't explain the chip was desoldered, it's a shame.

I think it's a FAKE!
Look at the bottom---does it say made in Shanghai?
Laughing Laughing

Actually, many C4004 whites have sold for around 200-300$ and this one was over 200$, not a bad deal.
Now ,...if I could only find that C4004 Gray for $200...... Rolling Eyes

If I had known it was desoldered, I doubt I would have bid. Learnt a lesson - ask the seller lots of questions or don't bid! Also was a bit sneaky of him not to show a photo of the legs.

I agree--very sneaky, IMO.
I always state if a chip is desoldered and show a full photo of it.
