I found and won this Nortel board with "mystery chips" on Ebay this week.
It will be my last purchase for awhile, but I took the risk of buying a board with the main chips hidden behind curious looking heatsinks:
Removing the heatsinks and paper tapes I was very happy to find some "mystery chips", a large Texas Instruments "QMV595BY1, CF65674CGA", a Gold purple ceramic square with no numbers and a strange design, a Nortel EPROM "QMV351CY1, BB25H0005" with a large quartz window! and two Intel socketed squares "TN87C196KB16" AND "TN87C196KC20"!!
Can anyone ID any of these, please?
This board also has 3 purple ceramic Nortel chips.
With NORTEL now bankrupt, I'm going to try and find as many of their chips as I can, since they won't be making IC's anymore
(I do have some NORTEL spares for trade.) |

"TN87C196KB16" AND "TN87C196KC20" are both MCS-96 MCUs.
The windowed Nortel chip looks like an MCU, from the various sections in the core, but that is only a guess _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
