Hi everyone,
in the topic t=34909, Calbris did a comment of the HP TouchSmart 600-1220 pc upgradability to quad core. Does it apply the same for the 600-1350 model ? I tried to update to the i7-820QM cpu to no avail : no boot with 3 beeps ±1s appart looping every ±4s.

Since HPs infos are unrelyable because they claimed this CPU was compatible... and that you are the pros in this matter, what is the fastest CPU my HP TouchSmart 600-1650 can handle (w. onboard discrete graphic card) ?

The Core i7-640M.

The Core i5-580M is the 3rd fastest processor, while the 2nd fastest is the Core i7-620M. The reason why I suggested the Core i5-580M in that old post was because it wasn't overpriced like the Core i7-640M. I believe this is still the case, unfortunately.
If you have the money, I would recommend buying the Core i7-640M over the Core i5-580M. My apologies for the confusion.

Damn !!! I already bought the i5 (not received yet). I'll buy the i7-640M and return the i5.
