|
|
I collect various computer hardware and, of course, processors, and also do various experiments and write articles about them. I used to collect only mass-produced specs and didn't even try to start collecting engineering samples. But in this very difficult year for me, I once again thought about a global idea for myself to start collecting information about Specs and the names of models of unreleased processors. I tried to search, but I did not quite succeed in this, so I ask you to share your knowledge in this area
I want to start a kind of countdown from Pentium 4 to socket 478 and up to today.
While I managed to find just such information, it can be considered a sample:
Core 2 Extreme X6900 Spec - QTOM (Socket 775);
AMD Athlon 64 FX-59 Spec -unknown (Socket 939);
- ???
I also want to find all such processors |

There are several chips with no retail equivalent.
Pentium Pro 133MHz comes to mind (Q0815)
These are some that I know have full BIOS strings, which likely means they were almost made into production parts but got canned late in development for one reason or another.
Celeron E3000 / E3900 QLVM
Pentium E5000 / E5900 QLUT
Pentium E6000 / E6900 QLPP
Core 2 Duo E8700 SLB9E
Core 2 Extreme QX9200 QGMZ QJAF QAVR QAVS
Core 2 Extreme X6900 QTOM / SL9S4
Core 2 Extreme QX9750 QJEE / SLBBU
There are also several s-specs that we know of from intel documents that have not surfaced in production forms (SLBBU from above is one of them)
One interesting chip I'd like to find is HH80562XL0888M SLAJG because the part number implies a Kentsfield-XE chip (or possibly a Xeon) with a 1600MHz FSB running at 3.2GHz (may have been an early predecessor to the QX9770, so let's call it the QX6870)
There is a nearly endless number of chips with different speed/cache grade than production parts, but have no real "name" as the BIOS string is often something like "Genuine Intel (R) 0000 @ x.xxGHz", meaning you may have to get creative if you want them to be known as something other than their QDF (See the theoretical QX6870 example above) _________________ My collection

The E8700 did make it to production form I think, albeit in very limited quantities: https://valid.x86.fr/show_oc.php?id=1118101
And there is a known LGA 771 equivalent to the QX6870 you mentioned, in the QYPE. Apparently it's called the "Clovertown Performance", I have one but it's at AVICC so I haven't tested it yet. _________________ My WTB List
