Bits and pieces: A4-3450 APU spotted, AMD retires Phenom II CPUs
Jul 12, 2012: The first generation of AMD Accelerated Processing Units, based on Llano core, hasn't been refreshed since the beginning of this year. Considering that AMD plans to replace Llano products with "Trinity"-based ones, and that some "Trinity" parts has already been launched, we didn't expect to see new Llano processors. However, recently updated CPU support information for Biostar motherboards revealed new A4-3450 APU.

AMD cuts prices of Phenom II and FX CPUs
Feb 28, 2012: As you may know, AMD yesterday launched two FX microprocessors, including company's first production CPU, operating faster than 4 GHz. New product releases are usually accompanied by price drops of older models, and it wasn't an exception this time. AMD cut prices on two FX-Series models, and reduced prices for most of Phenom IIs. They also added pricing for A-Series A6-3620 and A8-3820 Accelerated Processing units (APUs).

Intel Core i3-550 benchmarks
May 24, 2010: Core i3-550 microprocessor was planned for the second quarter of this year. Although this model is not officially released yet, it is already available in many stores. 95w or 125w ???

2012-06-05 08:06:15
Posted by: Steve

the title of this page reads:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 (95W, rev. C3, BE)....
but when you look at the page it says the TDP is 125w, like every other 955.
is there actually a phenom II x4 955 that has a TDP of 95w and how would one identify it?

Response: The title was wrong, this processor has 125W. The title was corrected. Phenom II X4 955 with 95W TDP is HDX955WFK4DGM, however it's not a Black Edition.

Wrong description

On AMD website you can read that HDZ955FBGMBOX is in Stepping C2.
It's also not Black Edition, so the notes in description are wrong.

Response: Information on the "shop AMD" website is incorrect. For correct information please check products database on AMD website, or look at the pictures / CPUID on this page.

HDZ955FBK4DGM/ HDZ955FBGMBOX are the same thing? I should buy, but on ASRock website just tells me the code and not the DGM BOX, for compatibility with my motherboard. But looking at other cards on ASRock website as always, the BOX will not give up no .... What should I do?? Many sellers tell me they have only the code BOX.

Response: Yes, it's the same processor.

Maybe this comes few years late but, max cores of am3 was 6 cores, but the next am3+ had also 8 core variants which in some cases could be used in am3 socket!! Like fx-8350
